Need Some Input

Post by Taskmaster on Fri Jul 27, 2012 12:12 am

Katara has a nasty hot spot on the back of her neck. It started out about the size of a quarter and then morphed into the size of a cup saucer in like 2 days. I believe I have it under control now thank God. But what the crap I've never ever had that happen in past dogs wash it good then apply peroxide or will use an over the counter hot spot solution then dry the area good. Hot Spot is usually gone in a day or so following treatment.

What has been ya'll experience with hot spots?
Thanks for your responses!

also put a table spoon of unfiltered apple cider vinager per gallon of water in their drinking water. The vinager kills the yeast in their systems that causes the hot spots to flair so fast. I've noticed the only time I have issues with hotspots is when I don't give them the ASV.

Thanks for your responses! Katara's hot spot has been conquered...whew! The area is no longer deep red, weepy or crusty, but it is still a little itchy. Over the years I've had dogs get hot spots but not to this magnitude. Sure am glad the worst of it is over.
