which look are we striving to produce?
Are we breeding to produce big bone (heavy) working breed?
or are we breeding to make a more compact functional line?
i know size do play a big role in certain events.
so what size type would you prefer and why?

For me, I like males in the 85-95 pound range. Females in the 70-80 range. Both I prefer to be long and tall.

Re: which look are we striving to produce?
I personally am striving to produce a hybred type... the best of both worlds. Here in TX it's hot and humid, a death sentence to allot of bully dogs. Standards can survive great, and to me it's the body type that is the difference. The big, wide, thick boned dogs like my Vader have a hard time in the heat, when the leaner more athlitic built dogs like Mojo or Betty don't seem to have an issue with the heat. So in my breeding plans I hope to keep the body type I have gotten with Mojo and most of his offspring. While trying to keep the classic bully head type on them.

So would you say the next breeding would be with a hybrid dog then keep its offsprings and continue from there?

Re: which look are we striving to produce?
well the only breeding I have planned right now is breeding Betty to Hernandez's TJ... I believe he has that same body type, same size (TJ is about 26in 96-98lbs lean), he's a clean beather and he is a weight pulling freak... I was considering using her father, because IMO they would lock in the type I want as both are very similar but I really didn't want to breed that tight.
